Lancaster police help deliver baby

LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) — Lancaster Police Department helped bring a new life into the world early Thursday morning.

They say just after 3:30 a.m. they got an emergency medical call on Broadway. They say when they got there, a pregnant woman was about to give birth.

Those officers, along with Town Line Fire Department firefighters and Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance Corps each helped deliver what Lancaster police described as a healthy baby boy.

After the baby was born at 3:59, police say they brought the baby and mother to a local hospital. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
