Police get help paying for Narcan training

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Almost 100 police departments in New York are receiving money to train their officers to use Narcan, thanks to Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. There was a huge rise in the price of the drug that helps heroin and opioid overdoses.

Schneiderman negotiated with the manufacturer to bring the price down 20 percent. This will help law enforcement get their hands on Narcan.

Almost 20 of the departments getting the training are in western New York.
