BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Just like the snow keeps beating down western New York, so too are the spirits of western New Yorkers being beaten down.
Many are just sick of the weather, and for Alyssa Ziobro’s family, getting stuck in their driveway was the last straw.
I’m really sick of it and so is my mom,” Ziobro said. “She’s so frustrated about this, and so am I. I could live with a little less snow this year.”
One new western New Yorker said he was left thinking of the warm Texas winters; he’s looking forward to spring.
“It was worse in November, but it is still kind of cold,” Tyree Toney said. “I’ll just be glad when all of this is gone so I can ride my bike and walk around instead of having to take the bus everywhere.”
But Toney said he’s not moving back to Texas just because of the winter. His resolve was similar to that of the crews removing the snow from the streets in western New York Thursday morning.
Over 40 truckloads of snow were removed in a grueling process that cleared Lackawanna streets.
“This one’s not too bad, but it’s an annoyance because it’s cold,” Toney said. “The salt is not working that well, and it freezes up again. You have to keep going over the streets back and forth.”
