Cuomo plans tax exemptions for beer tastings

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – With the craft beer industry growing in Buffalo, Governor Cuomo wants to help microbreweries succeed.

Similar to tax breaks for wineries, he plans to put tax exemptions in place for beer tastings. If passed, the tax exemption would also apply to cider mills.

The total number of businesses producing alcoholic beverages in the state has more than doubled since 2011. Proving the craft beer scene is bringing attention to the Queen City, a website recently ranked two local breweries on a list of “Mid-Atlantic Breweries to Check Out.”
