Habibi Sheesha lounge’s fate in hands of Buffalo official

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A local hookah lounge will find out within the next month if it will be able to open its Elmwood Avenue location.

Buffalo’s Permits and Inspections Commissioner will make a decision on the reopening of the establishment within 30 days.

Originally shut down for a permit violation, the lounge’s owner says he paid for the permit and should be able to reopen.

The lounge has been steeped in controversy since a man with a gun shot off several rounds near a gas station across the street.
