Off-duty state trooper charged with DWI

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – Off-duty New York State Police officer Robert Turnbull is facing drunk-driving charges according to Lockport Police.

Police say he was stopped around 1:40 a.m. for driving erratically on East Avenue in the City of Lockport where he refused to submit a pre-screening test.

Turnbull was also charged with unreasonable speed, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and unsafe passing.

Turnbull has been with the police for 20 years, according to a spokesperson with the NYSP.
