Buffalo police stop attempted church burglary

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo police in the A district put a stop to an attempted church burglary Tuesday.

Police say just before 3 a.m. they responded to St. Clare Parish on Elk Street. They say officers addressed suspicious activity at the church and found a man attempting to leave through the back of the church.

The alleged thief was identified as John Bish. They charged him with burglary, criminal mischief and filled a warrant out for Bish by New York State Parole for violating his parole.
