Fire crew rescues elderly woman from blaze

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – An elderly woman was rescued from a burning home in Buffalo’s Riverside neighborhood Tuesday morning. Firefighters were called to the blaze at Ontario and Tonawanda Streets.

The woman was transported to Erie County Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.  Another resident was able to make it out safely on her own from the upstairs apartment.

Investigators are working to find out what caused the fire. No damage estimate has been released.
