Firefighters respond to Ford’s stamping plant

HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) — Crews from several local volunteer fire departments responded to Ford’s Hamburg stamping plant Tuesday night after alarms rang out.

Crews battled a three-alarm fire Tuesday despite slushy, slippery conditions after a day of messy snow and rain which quickly froze in certain spots as night fell.

Local volunteer fire companies confirmed they responded to the fire, but said they couldn’t yet comment on its severity.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz took to twitter to explain what he knew about the size of the fire.

Poloncarz said his information came from Erie County’s Emergency Services Unit.

News 4 crews on the scene said by 9:45 p.m. all fire trucks had departed from the scene.
