Kidnapping, torture case in Niagara Co. Court

LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Lewiston man accused of kidnapping and torture is in court, Tuesday, in Niagara County.

Iver Phallen’s lawyers are arguing motions, however lawyers did not say what the motions are before the hearing.

A grand jury named Phallen in a 122 count indictment, accusing him of the repeated strangulation and kidnapping of two women. In previous court hearings, prosecutors said he told women he’s “done this before and has even killed.”

At Phallen’s home, investigators found what they call a treasure trove of devices including harnesses that prosecutors say were used to hang victims. They also found a laptop with over 800,000 images of bondage and sado-masechism. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
