Niagara County Legislature takes fireworks law off the table

NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVB) — It’s unclear as to if small fireworks will soon be legalized for sale in Niagara County.

The Niagara County Legislature had a proposed law to legalize sparklers and small similar fireworks, but took it off the table for a meeting Tuesday. Although fireworks remain illegal for sale in New York State, the proposed law would allow for stores to sell the fireworks between June 1 and July 5 and Dec. 26 through Jan 2.

It’s unclear as to if the law will be tabled again in the future. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
