NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — A woman who was charged with second degree murder will spend time behind bars for manslaughter.
Niagara Falls native and 31-year-old Ashley Berger pleaded guilty to the stabbing death of 22-year-old Richard Christian, another Niagara Falls man, at the Rodeway Inn on Main Street in April.
Police said Christian suffered after he was stabbed in the chest, and died at the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center shortly after. Berger was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years behind bars and five years of post-release supervision.
Berger took a plea deal to plead guilty of manslaughter.
