BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A push across the U.S. to find and arrest illegal aliens with criminal pasts yielded thousands of arrests, some of which happened in western New York.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations wrapped up a five-day push to target criminal aliens Monday. They arrested 2,059 convicted aliens, many of which they say have felony convictions, including child pornography, manslaughter, kidnapping and rape.
Of those arrests, 18 were found in western New York. Since May of 2011 — when pushes like this began — over 13,000 criminal aliens have been arrested.
In 2014 the Removal Operations side removed over 315,000 people from the U.S.
