Police make arrest in Niagara Falls bar shooting

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — Niagara Falls’ Detectives Division said they made an arrest Monday in a weekend homicide.

Michael Trane, Detective Lieutenant of the Niagara Falls Police Department, said they arrested 34-year-old Algernon Ray Dix. Police say they arrested him in his Niagara Falls home without an incident.

Police charged him for second degree murder and first degree criminal use of a firearm. Police say he’s the man behind a fatal shooting at 3M’s Bar on Highland Avenue.

They say he shot Franchot Wallace, 29, twice in his back.

Police say anybody with information on the shooting can call Niagara Falls Police at 286-4711.
