UB women taking big step forward in WNIT

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – While the men’s team is picking up most of the attention this week, it’s also a historic moment for the UB women after earning a spot in the WNIT.

The Bulls, like their male counterparts, will also take on West Virginia this week. That matchup is set for 7pm Thursday at WVU. It’s a big step forward for a program, with the team’s coaching hoping they can be a part of a sports town on the rise.

“I think that what Bobby’s done and what we’re trying to do, is to give this community what it deserves: a winner. With the new football coach with the Bills, what the Sabres are trying to do and what we’re trying to do as an athletic department, I think the energy in Buffalo is a great, great thing,” said head coach Felisha Legette-Jack.
