Young Griffs get taste of postseason

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – For the third year in a row, Canisius will play postseason basketball, with the Griffs hitting the court in the CIT Wednesday night.

One of the youngest teams in the nation, the Griffs seemed to be a longshot going into the season.

“When the season started, if you’d have told me we had an opportunity to do this, I probably would have thought you were crazy. Our kids, they deserved this, they earned it. It’s a tremendous opportunity,” said head coach Jim Baron.

With the majority of the roster returning next season, this could be a major stepping stone for a lot of the players.

“It’s very important, not only to end this year off right, but to give us a good starting point for next year. We’re coming into this thing to win it,” said Zach Lewis.
