ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York economic development officials say the makers of the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie are returning to the state to film a sequel.
Empire State Development CEO Howard Zemsky announced Friday that the movie will be filmed in New York City beginning next month. Scenes are also expected to be filmed in Buffalo.
Zemsky says the state’s film production tax credit program helped lure the filmmakers back to New York.
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown says the movie will mean an economic boost for Buffalo and he looks forward to seeing his city on the big screen.
The state did not release a preliminary estimate on how much in tax credits the film will receive.
