Crews blast fiery Dunkirk home with jets of water

DUNKIRK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Crews battled a fire in Dunkirk Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters responded to the scene of a two-story home involved in flame around 1 p.m.

Crews responding to the fire blasted it with jets of water from several different angles — including from above via a ladder. They say the second floor and attic were engulfed in flame. Crews from Dunkirk and Fredonia responded and fought the flame for roughly three hours.

Officials say six adults and one child all made it out of the house without any injury. Red cross will assist the families.

Fire investigators say there is no cause as of yet, but an investigation will ensue.
