Troopers smell alcohol, charge man with DWI

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police say they smelled alcohol on one man before arresting him for DWI over the weekend.

New York State Troopers pulled over Anthony Baxter on Niagara Falls Boulevard for speeding past a trooper and unsafe passing. They say when interviewing him, not only was he not wearing a seat belt, he smelled of alcohol.

Police say he failed field sobriety tests and after being arrested blew a .13 percent blood alcohol content into a breathalyzer test.

Baxter will return to court on April 21. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
