Two nabbed at border with brass knuckles and cocaine

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two people attempting to reenter the U.S. were stopped and searched, and the search placed them in handcuffs.

New York State Police say U.S. Customs and Border Protection called them to the scene after they searched a car belonging to 23-year-old North Carolina native Eric S. Kornacki. They say 24-year-old Ransomville native Jonathan A. Aquino was a passenger in the car.

Police say they found a pair of brass knuckles in the car along with drugs. Officers tested a baggie with 4.5 grams of a white powder inside and say it came back positive for cocaine. They also found a hypodermic needle.

Kornacki was charged with fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon and Aquino was charged with fourth degree criminal possession  of a controlled substance and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Each will return to Town of Lewiston Court in April.
