Waterline break closes some offices in Lackawanna City Hall

LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Some offices in Lackawanna City Hall are closed because of a waterline break.  The offices of civil service, the city treasurer and the city assessor will be closed until Thursday.

The departments of development, engineering, comptroller, city clerk, recreation, law and the mayor’s office, along with the court, were not damaged by the water. They remain open.

The tax deadline will be extended until Friday, April 3rd. However, City Hall will close at noon on Friday because it’s Good Friday.

A cleanup crew responded to the scene early Tuesday morning.
