BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – There are a lot of gyms and workout facilities in western New York, but few with a view as special as the one at the Impact Sports Performance inside the HarborCenter. The treadmills and exercise bikes are pressed up to floor to ceiling windows overlooking Canalside and Buffalo’s waterfront.
The facility is on the sixth floor of the building just off the feature rink, but it’s about more than just off-ice hockey training. Director Jason Jerome says his team works with clients to create customized workout plans for any age and ability, using the latest technology to bring their routine to the next level.
Some of the most impressive pieces of equipment in the facility are the the curved treadmills. They’re non-motorized, and help Jerome and his trainers teach people the correct body position while running.
If you would like to test your own skills on the curved treadmills, sign up for the Woodway Curve Challenge on Saturday, April 4th. The relay race will allow teams of three to see how far they can run on the curved treadmills and compete for cash prizes of up to $600.
