Beware: April Fools’ Day jokes are out there

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Be careful throughout your day Wednesday, and keep in mind that it’s April Fools’ Day. Two local colleges and a famous website are already working to trick people.

Houghton College announced a day early that their building a bio-dome over campus. The website Google Maps launched a blast from the past on their site, turning roads into a Pac-Man game.

The University at Buffalo is also connected to a prank. The website “” is advertising drone-delivered student ID cards.

It has statements including, “Our card delivery drones are virtually silent, if you’re wearing headphones.”

At the very end, there is a lovely haiku from someone labeled “not even a UB student.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
