Local Trooper reacts to getting voted off Survivor

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) —  Kelly Remington’s time as a castaway on CBS’s Survivor is over.

The New York State Trooper from Grand Island made it through six elimination rounds, but was the seventh person voted off the island. And it was a surprise even to her. She only had three votes against her, while fellow castaway Jenn had 7 votes, but no one realized Jenn had a secret immunity idol. Still, Kelly admits she could have done things differently.

“I was a little too secure with myself. I should have talked with Jenn and Hali after I lost the immunity challenge”, explained Kelly.

She was still in good spirits when she came on News 4 Wakeup! to talk about her experience on Survivor, and what it felt like to get voted off the island. After toasting with champagne glasses filled with orange juice, Kelly revealed what happens after your torch is extinguished.

“They take you to a house on the island known as Ponderosa and then we go to Costa Rica for a few weeks which was nice. I was bummed that it was all over, even though it was so draining”, said Kelly.

Kelly will still travel to Los Angeles for the final episode of Survivor: World’s Apart. Although she can’t win the million dollar prize, you will see her on that final episode. She could end up as the “fan favorite” as well.

Find out who will be crowned the next Sole Survivor during the two-hour season finale, followed by a reunion special on Wednesday, May 20 at 8 p.m. on Channel 4.
