Alleged fatal shooter due in court

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Cheektowaga man will face a second-degree murder charge in court Thursday, after allegedly killing 28-year-old Denell Baker, of Buffalo, in December.  The shooting happened on East North Street and Jefferson Avenue.

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office said 26-year-old Deshawn Harris shot and killed Baker in a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Jordan Hicks, of Buffalo. After the shooting, Hicks allegedly drove away from the scene, with the victim’s body inside the vehicle, before dumping it.

Hicks is charged with first-degree hindering prosecution. He could face a maximum prison sentence of  3 ½ to 7 years in prison.
