Four taken to ECMC after two-car crash strikes pedestrians

CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — First responders rushed to the scene of an accident which put multiple people in danger Thursday afternoon in the City of Tonawanda.

Police rushed to Niagara and Kohler Streets where they say a driver stopped at a red light had a medical emergency. They say that caused the driver to rear-end the driver in front of them. That collision caused the driver’s vehicle to spin out of control.

The car spinning out of control struck two pedestrians (a mother and daughter) who were near Mississippi Mudds near Kohler Street.

Four people in total were rushed to Erie County Medical Center. Police say the driver with the medical emergency, a passenger in the car which was struck and the mother and daughter were all rushed away.

Police and Firefighters were still on the scene just before 4:30 p.m. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
