BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Girl Scouts of western New York are teaming up with the Food Bank of western New York to fight off hunger in the area.
They’re participating in a project to help the community and help the young women learn more about hunger in the area. Scouts will participate in a month-long food drive throughout the region. Scouts will collect food and participate in volunteer efforts at local pantries and soup kitchens..
“We are so excited that the Girl Scouts are taking the initiative to learn more and take action about hunger in our community,” Marylou Borowiak, President and CEO of the Food Bank of western New York said.
Anybody who wants to help out can donate food at any Girl Scouts of western new York service center from now through May 1. Check out their locations here.
