HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) – Neighbors living in the Town of Hamburg said they have seen a string of vandalism. There was at least one fire and a number of tires slashed on Brian Court early Thursday morning.
“I’d like to see them catch whoever has done this you know” said Lenny Martinez. “This vehicle is my vehicle got two flat tires on it. My neighbor had four flat tires on his car. They ripped the seat.”
Janet Muller also had her front seat slashed. In all more than a dozen people on Brian Court and Robin Lane had vehicles damaged. “I can’t believe somebody would do this to somebody else. Last year, it was theft in everybody’s house around here, I mean people lost a lot they broke into cars and stuff, but this is like unbelievable.”
And right in the middle of all the cars with slashed tires was this, a mini van that was set on fire and it caught the house on fire.
Donna Marriott says she woke up to her son was screaming her car was on fire. Her family was ablt to get out qucikly while only there mini van was on fire, but they had to stand there outside and watch as that fire quickly engulfed their dining room.
The Hamburg Code Enforcement Officer told her she cannot live in her home for a couple months because of the fire damage.
Marriott wants justice. “Well considering it’s a couple days before Easter, we were gonna dye Easter eggs with my grandchildren, yea I feel really bad, and whoever did this, I hope that their families suffer like we suffer. I don’t want to be bitter, and I know it’s not the Christian thing to do but where were their parents at four o’clock in the morning because it had to be a bunch of kids.”
Hamburg Police have not released details about the situation. They are actively investigating the incidents.
