SolarCity starts recruiting workers for RiverBend

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A bright sign that things are moving along on Buffalo’s SolarCity development is a notice that they are ready to hire their first employees.

SolarCity has posted openings for six workers including a recruiter and human resources position and engineering positions for its solar panel factory. The company eventually expects to hire more than 1,400 workers.

Six jobs were posted by the company on Friday, including in its human resources and recruiting departments. The company is also looking to hire two engineers.

The solar energy systems company is building a $900 million complex on the RiverBend in South Buffalo. They hope to finish the building by the end of the year, with full production ramping up in 2017.

The project is part of Gov.
