Popular Amherst St. restaurant closes its doors

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Not days after celebrating Dyngus Day in Buffalo with patrons, a restaurant in Buffalo was closed with little notice to its patrons.

Black Rock Kitchen and Bar announced over Facebook that they were closed as of Wednesday for good, but thanked its patrons. Over five years of business, the restaurant was known for a more upscale food service location.

A person who identified himself as a partial owner said the business was closing because there are too many restaurants located on the Amherst Street strip.

Many who replied to the post on Facebook were upset.

“This is terrible news! My favorite place and a place my family and I hold close to our hearts,” one former patron said.

The restaurant was highly rated and popular, but the family which owned it does own at least one other restaurant.
