Hazmat crews respond to spill of 4K gallons of manure

LISLE, N.Y. (WIVB) –  Emergency HAZMAT crews have been working at the site of a tractor trailer spill near Binghamton.  Four thousands gallons of liquid manure flipped over on a road in Lisle, spilling its load into a ditch and onto private property.

CBS affiliate, WBNG-TV, reports that the driver Charles H. Clute, 43, was not injured.  His vehicle apparently drifted onto the soft shoulder and then overturned on Caldwell Hill Road around 6:11 p.m.

The accident is being investigated by theNYS Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit and monitored by the Department of Environmental Conservation Spill Response Team.
