Buffalo Dream Center moving to the west side

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A church organization well known for having a pastor who embraces homelessness by sleeping with the homeless for a week in November is in a hard spot again.

The Buffalo Dream Center and its pastor Rev. Eric Johns are moving again, despite already having lost two locations in the last year. Members of the center are worried their programs will be impacted.

“It has been a difficult season,” Johns said. “Our after-school program had to temporarily shut down. Many homeless people are worried that we will not be here anymore. Our future has been uncertain for several months.”

Now the center is moving at least temporarily to the Concerned Ecumenical Ministry on Lafayette Avenue. Although the building will need renovations before the center can have its services there, but Johns says he’s still appreciative.

“The building is a lot smaller than what we have been used to having. But I am excited about being located in the heart of a west side neighborhood,” he said.
