Jogger hospitalized after hit-and-run in Amherst

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – A 41-year-old man was hospitalized Sunday evening, after being hit by a car while jogging.

The incident occurred on Hopkins Rd. near Schoelles Rd., in the Town of Amherst.

Authorities report that a maroon colored minivan, being driven by a white female, was traveling south on the shoulder of Hopkins Rd. When the driver attempted to correct the path of the vehicle, it struck the jogger. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
