High-wire walker announces next stunt won’t be in NY

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man who has captured the imaginations of many with his daring crossings of Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon and more over a tightrope announced his next death-defying stunt Monday.

The announcement has Florida residents excited, but could come as a letdown to some New York Nik Wallenda fans. On April 9 Wallenda teased out his newest stunt, but gave indications that it could be a New York event.

Monday Wallenda announced in New York City that he’d be walking on the rim of a spinning building called the Orlando Eye on April 29. The building, which is almost set to open, will be a 400-foot-tall wheel which viewers can look out over the city from.

Wallenda made his name walking over tightropes, this marks one of his first stunts which won’t involve a high-wire.
