JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) — Drug raids in Jamestown are attempting to stop the sales and trafficking of heroin at the source.
Investigations into one source of the deadly drug led the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force — which includes local and federal police forces — to a home on 150 Barrows Street Monday morning.
Police carried out a search warrant there and say they found large quantities of heroin packaged for sale and a large amount of cash. The drugs led police to arrest Teresa Lopez, 50, and Eduardo Rodriguez, 49, on drug charges.
While carrying out the search warrant, police say they learned a small child was in the home. Rodriguez and Lopez were charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.
Jamestown Police say additional charges will likely follow as police flesh out the investigation. Lopez and Rodriguez are being held in jail as the investigation continues. Anybody with additional information is asked to call Jamestown Police at (716) 483-8477.
