BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – It could be a Boston University reunion this year in the Sabres locker room, with the team signing Evan Rodrigues to a two-year entry-level contract Wednesday.
Rodrigues played on the same line as Jack Eichel, presumably the Sabres’ target with the 2nd overall pick in the NHL Draft this June.
While Eichel led the NCAA in scoring this season, Rodrigues wasn’t far behind, finishing second in the nation with 61 points. His 20 goals and 41 assists helped Eichel guide BU to the Frozen Four, where they eventually lost in the championship game.
Rodrigues, a 5’11”, 176 pound winger, served as an alternate captain this year for the Terriers.
