Bucks from Buffalo Billion spread around city

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The first recipients from the Better Buffalo Fund — a fund with $30 million from the Buffalo Billion initiative — are being named.

Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office named 21 projects which will receive a total of $11 million. Nine of those projects will be completed on Buffalo’s east side.

The projects are expected to renovate more than 200 residential units and commercial space across Buffalo.

“This funding is an absolute launching pad for projects like we’re doing at 1665 Main, and we have other projects on the east side of Buffalo, so we say let’s keep it coming,” Sundra Ryce, of SLR Contracting, said. “We’re going to be key developers and star players, and we hope to continue to really provide jobs.”

The announcement took place at 1423 Filmore Avenue in Buffalo. The property there will receive improvements as part of a matching grant to the Community Action Organization of Erie County.
