CITY OF NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Information from fire investigators is conflicting with reports from the owner of a local marina which was partially ravaged in a recent fire.
The owner of the marina recently said he thought the fire’s damage would breach $1 million, but fire investigators say there is only about $600,000 in damage.
A release today from North Tonawanda fire investigators says the structure sustained about $300,000 in damage and the boats sustained about $300,000 in damage.
There’s still no word on what may have caused the April 20 fire. Investigators say the flames may have sparked in the back of a warehouse at the marina.
The investigation will remain open in case any pertinent information can be gained to close the investigation for good.
