NY Times: Senate leader Skelos and son to be arrested next week

ALBANY, N.Y.  (WIVB) — The New York Times is reporting that Republican Dean Skelos, the leader of the New York State Senate, and his son are expected to be arrested on federal corruption charges next week.  The Times sites “people with knowledge of the matter.”

An investigation is looking into whether Skelos used his position to help Arizona-based AbTech, which had hired Skelos’ son Adam as a consultant.

Former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, a Democrat, is fighting federal charges that he accepted nearly $4 million in payoffs.
