NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. (WIVB) – After just two seasons with Niagara, sophomore forward Ramone Snowden will transfer away, the school confirmed on Tuesday.
Snowden was the team’s second-leading scorer last season with 10.7 points per game, starting all 30 contests for the Purple Eagles.
He asked for, and the school granted his release.
The news comes on the heels of a tweet from fellow starter Wes Myers, who said “I’ve decided to leave Niagara university after this semester. I’m thankful for everything the university has given me” last Friday.
Both those players were recruited by current head coach Chris Casey, who has had several players transfer away during his two seasons at NU. Most of the early transfers were former head coach Joe Mihalich’s recruits, but five other players have recently left the program as well – including Snowden and Myers.
After a couple rebuilding seasons to deal with the first wave of transfers, it appears NU could be on the verge of another rebuild while they try to replace these two starters.
