Assistant Volunteer Fire Chief arrested for arson

TOWN OF DRESDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) – NY State Police arrested a man in eastern New York for arson.

A volunteer fireman, Carl Rehm, 20, was arrested after witnesses saw him at the scene of a brush fire in the Town of Dresden, in Washington County.

Rehm, the Assistant Chief of the Dresden Fire Dept., admitted to starting that fire as well as several other brush fires in the area over the last several weeks.

He was arrested for arson in the fifth degree and was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Dresden Court at a future date. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
