BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Downtown Country Market kicked off today for the first time this summer, offering a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and plants. It gives city workers an opportunity to load up on fresh local produce.
For the first time this season, anyone downtown had the opportunity to graze all types of local produce that Western New York farms have to offer.
And with 98,000 residents within a fifteen minute drive, as well as 50,000 office workers downtown, it’s a great way for local farms to get their produce out, which for some is a big part of their business.
And new to the market this year will be a community tent for local non-profits to use, so they can share their mission and services with the public.
This is the 33rd annual Downtown Country Market, you can check it out every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00AM to 2:30PM. It’s located on Main Street, right between Church and Court Streets, and goes every Tuesday and Thursday until October 22nd.
