Car, Amish buggy collide and injure horse

CONEWANGO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Attempting to pass an Amish buggy led to a crash for the two drivers Wednesday.

Police say the driver of the car, Adam Dimpfl, 22, was attempting to get by the buggy and struck the horse, then continued on to run into a metal fence. His car came to a stop in a nearby ditch.

Neither driver suffered injury, but the horse suffered lacerations. Dimpfl was cited for failing to use due care when passing a horse on the roadway. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
