Police offer reward for man accused of kidnapping who absconded parole

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man from the Jamestown area may have made his way to the Buffalo area to avoid his parole.

Police in Buffalo say they’re searching for Jeremy Smathers, a 6-foot tall black man who has brown eyes and black hair. Police say he kidnapped his girlfriend at gunpoint and is serving parole for it.

Via Crimestoppers, police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to Smathers’ arrest. Anybody with information is asked to call police at (716) 867-6161.
