Disappearing auto parts lead to theft arrest

FREDONIA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police say they found the answer to the mystery of missing auto parts in Pomfret when they arrested a local for theft.

New York State Troopers were called to investigate the theft of auto parts from Clemens Auto Sales in Pomfret. Eight car batteries and two rear end axles disappeared from the store over two weeks time.

Police eventually arrested Angelo Spicola Jr., a 53-year-old Cassadaga man, and charged him with three counts of petit larceny. He’ll return to court on June 2.
