Police: Body found in Lockport not suspicious

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) — Following days of investigation, police in Lockport have identified and released details about a body which was decomposing in a field.

Police say Lockport workers originally located the body of Brian McMaster, a 25-year-old resident, in a field near Wide Waters Marina on Market Street. Police say they interviewed his next of kin and they reported the man missing on May 19, shortly before his body was found on May 21.

McMaster reportedly hadn’t checked in with his family for several weeks.

Following investigation and the medical examination, police say there’s no reason to believe there was foul play behind his death.
