BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A community came together Tuesday night following a shooting on Schuele Avenue.
Family and friends gathered to remember a man who was murdered at the spot of his death. They mourned William “Popeye” Blackmon — a man who died two years ago.
Blackmon’s murder remains unsolved. One member of Buffalo’s Peacemakers says it’s a reminder that anybody who knows information should speak up.
“It’s always point the finger or the blame at someone, instead of taking responsibility. So one of our things, is that we encourage people if you know something say something,” Tina Sanders, of Buffalo Peacemakers, said. “That’s so we can get some of these murders and shootings solved by everyone just working together and coming together to try to get our community back under control.”
