ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – With all the focus on the top three quarterbacks, the Bills swapped out the fourth option today, claiming QB Matt Simms off waivers and waiving Jeff Tuel.

Simms played for current Bills head coach Rex Ryan when he was with the Jets. He’s a former undrafted free agent who saw a little time for the Jets over the last two years, completing 19 of 39 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown. Simms is the son of former Giants star quarterback Phil Simms.

Tuel spent two years with the Bills. Injuries forced him into action during the 2013 season, but he looked over-matched in two games. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
