BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — First responders rushed to the scene of a car which caught fire on the I-90 Friday evening.

A car caught fire between exits 53 and 54 and blocked off the right lane of traffic, slowing down traffic just before 5:30. Traffic was backed up for a time on the I-90 and the I-190.

Police say there were no injuries in the fire, and say it may be something mechanical. Crews worked to put out the fire and clear the snag in traffic. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
