Family mourns loss of WNY serviceman

FREDONIA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A community is coming together as a family is mourning the loss of a  24-year-old Air Force airman from Fredonia.

The family of U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Michael Klose says he died in a car crash earlier in the week in Germany — the country he was stationed in. His family and fellow airmen attended a memorial for him on Thursday.

According to the Dunkirk Observer, Klose graduated from Fredonia High School in 2009 and attended his basic training in Texas.

Klose had been stationed in Germany since 2011.
